About the Department

The Department of Information Security was established in 2012 following reorganization of the Department of Comprehensive Data and Facility Protection. The Department is a degree-awarding department. It offers bachelor degree programs in Information Security (with the concentration in Information Security of Automated Banking Systems) and master degree programs in Information Security of Financial and Lending Institutions. The Department teaching staff members teach the disciplines related to the core components and variational curriculum components of programs related to information security. All the Department instructors have a very large experience of teaching information security-related disciplines and experience as practitioners in the field. The Department key goal is to train highly-qualified experts in information security, to improve students' knowledge of information security and to make them acquire the skills needed for doing independent theoretical research or conducting professional activity in the field.

The Department has set the following main goals and objectives for the next five years:

• To be engaged in developing the Financial University as an innovative higher education institution and as an international research university;
• To build a solid scientific school;
• Within a multilevel education system, to train highly- qualified personnel ready to work for various economic, financial and other companies and institutions.   

 The Department teaching staff will be engaged in activities in the following fields: 

• Education and teaching methodology development;   
• Research;
• Post-graduate and doctoral training;
• Student research;
• Personnel professional development;
• Post-secondary pre-university training;
• Introduction of modern software and hardware used for protecting information into the learning process.
