About the Department
The Department was opened in February 1999. Initially, the Department was called the Department of Tax Police. It was called the Department of Economic Security in 2003. The Department of Risk Analysis and Economic Security was established following Order No. 93-2/o of 15 June 2006. The Department of Emergency Management merged with the Department of Risk Analysis and Economic Security in 2014. The Department existed until 1 September 2017. Then the Department of Emergency Management turned into an independent department again.
The Department started offering master programs in Corporate Risk Management in 2010. The Department started offering master program in Corporate Risk Management, Insurance Business and Economic Security in 2014. The Department launched a master program in Corporate Risk Management and Economic Security in 2016. Today, the Department offers bachelor degree programs with the concentrations in Corporate Risk Analysis and Management and Corporate Economic Security; master degree programs with the concentration in Compliance Control in Business Entities' Operations, and offers a postgraduate training program in Economics and Management of the National Economy.
The key Department goal is to train highly-qualified experts in risk management and economic security, to examine issues and resolve research problems in this field. This is in correspondence with the list of the Department goals and in line with the systemic approach used when teaching the subjects. The
Department operates to achieve the following:
- To develop original programs of study in disciplines related to risk analysis and economic security for the two-level (bachelor/master degree-based) education system;
- To expand the scope of research and consulting work performed at the request of the Rector's Office and external customers;
- To improve qualifications of the Department teaching staff.
The Department mission is to become the leading Russian department offering programs related to corporate risk analysis and economic security and to resolve research problems in this field.
