Occupational Standards and a National Qualifications Framework Development in the Tourism Sector international seminar was held in the Financial University on 9-11 March 2019. It was held within the framework of The European Dimension in Qualifications for the Tourist Sector/EurDiQ/ Erasmus + structural program.
The seminar agenda included a meeting with representatives of the project Consortium, a discussion session titled 'Occupational Standards of the Tourism Industry: the Art of Finding a Compromise'. It was attended by the representatives of the European Union, the leading Russian universities and tourism industry organizations.
The final item on the seminar agenda was a strategic session titled 'Building the Future of the Tourism Sector: Occupational Standards and Qualification Requirements'. It was organized within the framework of Intourmarket - 2017 Twelfth International Tourism Exhibition. During the strategic session, the project Consortium participants presented their occupational standards development proposals for the exhibition organization sector and tourism territory promotion industry. A lively discussion that took place during the session proved that the representatives of the tourism industry and the university community were quite interested in having a debate on the topic.
The project Consortium members and the Financial University EURDiQ project team believe that the project outcomes will help reach an understanding of the new tourism sector qualifications that would be in line with the European quality standards and meet the employers' requirements.
