The International Finance Faculty (IFF) offers Bachelor and Master degrees in International Finance. Graduates of IFF get the state diploma of Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, as well as have an opportunity to gain a diploma of one of the prestigious Western-partner universities.
IFF trains students for professional work in finance and economic divisions. The graduates of IFF will be able to carry out analytical, organizational, administrative, and educational activities in various fields of economy. Graduates often find jobs in the functioning markets, financial and informational corporations, production and research processes, educational work, research and other organizations and also within state administrative bodies.
China has one of the world's most prominent and far-reaching economies today. China is the largest manufacturing center in the world and the largest exporter of goods and services. For decades, China's economy has shown one of the highest growth rates in the world. The largest international financial centers, Hong Kong and Shanghai, are amongst the five largest MFC world are located in China. Financial analysts around the world are carefully monitoring the behavior of the Hushen-300 and Hang Seng indexes. China's gold and foreign currency reserves in late August 2015 exceeded 3.6 trillion dollars, while Chinese banks issued new loans in yuan to the amount of 809.6 billion dollars. Currency pair CNY/RUB trade started in Moscow and Shanghai and is growing rapidly. Three Chinese universities are on the list of the top 50 universities in the world, and the top five universities in Asia. By 2025, China can build ten cities of the same size and magnitude as New York.
President Putin said at a meeting in Ufa that the BRICS countries had agreed to strengthen the partnership. He stated that, “The key documents approved by BRICS leaders - the Ufa Declaration, the Plan of Actions and the Economic Partnership Strategy - contain specific agreements on the development of the association, strengthening its international status." He stressed that the practical work of the BRICS financial institutions - the New Bank and the Contingent Reserve Arrangement with an aggregate capital of 200 billion dollars - was initiated.
Taking into account the strategic partnership between Russia and China, the first Chinese group to come for the bachelor's program was opened at IFF in 2011. Within the framework of this program a number of general and special disciplines on economics and finance are taught. Specifically, the country of China is studied, intensive Chinese language was introduced during the first year, and a number of subjects on history and culture of the country were introduced. Chinese is taught from an entry level using modern techniques and teaching materials developed jointly by Russian and Chinese linguists. By the end of the fourth year, students reach 4th level of HSK (汉语水平考试 hanyu shuiping kaoshi – international exam on Chinese), which allows them to communicate with native speakers on professional topics fluently, and also without any difficulties to read and write in Chinese.
International professional disciplines are taught entirely in English. In the senior courses of Chinese studies, students have the opportunity to have a language and study internship in China.
Fluency in Chinese and English, knowledge of international finance, and an experience of internships in Chinese universities and companies, all make an IFF graduate an ideal candidate for work in the sphere of Russian-Chinese economic corporations.

The main goal of the International Finance Faculty is to train personnel who possess modern economic knowledge and are capable to apply that knowledge in practice. For this purpose, the faculty invites leading professors of the Financial University, practitioners specialists (Russian and foreign), interacting with major business partners in the regards of potential employment of faculty's students and a number of other measures. IFF wants faculty that are able to help prepare our students for the foreign financial reporting, accounting means and reports, and the ability to compete in advanced forms and methods for all future financial markets.
The main accent of IFF curriculum is made on the international standards of accounting, corporate governance and investment management (based on the state educational standard of higher professional education).
An important feature of IFF is that all subjects are available in English. This innovation is very crucial during the period of globalization and the expanding of Russian companies to the world's market.
The faculty organizes lectures with honorary representatives of the business community. Such meetings are very valuable for students as it allows students to learn about the current problems in the financial world, to identify the skills needed for successful employment, and an opportunity to network with those who are already in the working world.
International Activities of the Faculty
Our courses, curriculum, and organization of the educational process are adapted and similar to the best examples of leading Western universities. We use the ESTS standards for assessment in the framework of the Bologna process, that significantly simplifies the merger of the Russian and Western programs. The standards of the ECTS increase the mobility of students.
Internships in a foreign partner university gives our students the opportunity to get a double diploma. Our graduates can continue their master's education at a foreign university. This is a valuable opportunity for IFF students, as well as for IFF faculty to be able to receive foreign students.
In order to complete an internship and continue studying at foreign universities, students need to pass the IELTS or TOEFL international English language exam

Specific working positions depend on the sphere of the specialization during the study. Students, who are prone to an investment activity on financial markets, can work in investment banks and funds, financial departments of large organizations as investment managers, consultants and analytics. Those who have succeeded in issues of international/ Russian accounting and corporate governance, can count on a career as a financial analysts in large industrial companies.
