Review of Business and Economics Studies (RoBES) is an editorially independent international academic journal launched by the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. Journal is published in English with Russian abstracts. RoBES is a multidisciplinary journal committed to increasing the communication between the sub-disciplines within economic and business studies and bringing up-to-date information on current developments within the field.

RoBES cover a wide range of emerging topics of business and economics with a focus on advanced international finance, sustainability and emerging markets all over the world. It publishes original research papers, reviews of the discipline, theoretical and conceptual work, applied research, program descriptions, research in organization and the community, and curricular developments. Areas of interest include but are not limited to, economic, business, and social issues, management, and other subjects according to JEL Classification System. The journal is not divided into sections.

Journal's mission is to provide profound scientific perspective on a wide range of topical economic and business subjects of any region in the world. Choice of topics for publication is based on discussion between editorial board members formed by renowned academics and practitioners from Russia, USA, Europe and Asia. We use double-blind peer reviewing for paper selection.

Our journal aims to search what is currently most cited and discussed topics in economics and business science, select those topics that might be of interest in current social context for decision-makers in business and government, and connect business and state authorities to academia by delivering deep qualitative insights, strongly reasoned with the rigorous quantitative methodology. Our scope is emerging scientific research in finance, economics, and management for the best interest of business and policymakers.

The journal aims to publish highly selective, widely cited articles of current relevance that will have a long-term impact on economics research. Review of Business and Economics Studies publishes analytical, interpretive, and empirical studies in a number of areas―including monetary theory, fiscal policy, labor economics, development, micro- and macroeconomic theory, international trade and finance, industrial organization, and social economics―are essential reading for all economists wishing to keep up with substantive new research in the discipline.

Here are the five qualities we look for when evaluating what to publish:

1. Expertise: You do not have to be well known to be a contributor, but you must know a lot about the subject you are writing about.

2. Evidence: It's not enough to know your subject deeply—you have to prove it to the reader. Referring to supporting research is one good way to do this; describing relevant examples is another. If you have interesting data, let us know.

3. Originality: New ideas in management are rare and precious—and one of the primary reasons readers turn to RoBES. If you're writing about a well-worn topic, we'll be looking for a unique argument or insight.

4. Usefulness: RoBES readers come to us not only to stay on top of new developments in economics and business thinking but also to change the way they and their organizations actually do things. If you can explain yours thinking so that the reader understands how to apply it in a real situation, that will make it more powerful.

5. Writing that's persuasive and a pleasure to read: RoBES readers are smart and skeptical and busy. If you don't capture their interest right away, they will move on to something else.

RoBES promote integrity in academic publications and follow the COPE ethical rules and internationally accepted academic procedures in publishing. For details see our website at http://www.fa.ru/org/div/edition/rbes/Pages/Home.aspx.
